The Graduate Program in Technology and Management in Distance Education is affiliated with the Academic Unit for Distance Education and Technology and the Office of Graduate Studies (PRPG) at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco (UFRPE).
In-person activities of the program take place in the new building of the Academic Unit for Distance Education – Espaço TEC, inaugurated in 2018 at the university's main campus.
The IT infrastructure of the main building of the Academic Unit for Distance Education and Technology includes equipment such as: workstations, interactive touchscreen whiteboards, LCD televisions, projectors, digital drawing tablets, desktop computers and laptops, servers, scanners, tablets, and printers.
The program has a dedicated administrative office for the Master's program, equipped with computers and printers. It also includes its own reception area and coordination office. The program has access to air-conditioned classrooms for on-site instructional activities, as well as: a didactic material production room, a coordination room for material production, a shared video lab with a radio studio, a videoconferencing room, a computer lab, a server room, a financial services office, and a break room. In addition, laboratory infrastructure is available to support the research activities of graduate students.
Below is a detailed description of the infrastructure and equipment available to researchers and graduate students in the program:
- A laboratory for the production of didactic materials for Distance Education. In this space, students can carry out activities such as editing, scriptwriting for animations and video lessons, illustration of didactic content, and the creation of digital layouts and visual materials, among other actions related to educational material production. The lab is fully air-conditioned.
- A shared space that includes a photo studio, radio studio, video studio, and videoconferencing room. In the radio lab, students and faculty can record and edit digital audio materials to be used in UFRPE’s distance education courses. Activities such as editing radio programs, audio dramas, and other commonly used educational audio resources are conducted in this space. The video studio supports the full process of image editing and the production of video lessons, which are recorded by faculty responsible for organizing the course content.
The videoconferencing room is used for online meetings, web conferences, and virtual coordination sessions with faculty and representatives from municipal education hubs where distance learning courses are offered. It also supports synchronous remote activities, using interactive web conferencing tools that enable virtual meetings and Distance Education sessions.
The Graduate Program in Technology and Management in Distance Education also benefits from the infrastructure, services, and bibliographic collection of UFRPE’s Central Library, in addition to exclusive resources from the Academic Unit for Distance Education.
Currently, the general collection of the UFRPE Central Library includes 35,932 titles and 91,758 volumes, encompassing books, theses, and pamphlets; 1,145 national periodicals, 841 international periodicals, 841 video titles, and 1,249 physical video copies, according to data available on the Central Library’s portal: www.bc.ufrpe.br.
